Who We Are

Marin VOAD Partners

Marin VOAD partners are a combined force of nonprofit, faith-based and government agencies, disaster councils, volunteer groups, and for profit organizations who provide disaster services. We work together in a coordinated way to help those people who are affected by disaster, primarily the underserved, at-risk, and socially vulnerable community members in Marin. Marin VOAD partners include the following public and private organizations. Marin VOAD contributing members are highlighted below. To see the disaster services provided by many partnering organizations, take a look at the Marin VOAD Nonprofit Disaster Resource Directory.

Executive Committee

The Executive Committee is representative of all geographic areas of Marin as well as many different communities and functions. We have members from disaster service organizations, nonprofits and community based organizations and local and County government agencies. We represent seniors, families and children, Spanish speaking communities, people with access and functional needs, lower income communities, and the homeless. The Executive Committee meets monthly to determine the strategic objectives of the VOAD, plan the monthly meetings and chart the future course of Marin VOAD. The Executive Committee consists of the following organizations:

Membership

The Marin VOAD is a collaborative coalition that builds the capacity and coordination of local community-based organizations to prepare for and respond to disasters in Marin County. Marin VOAD supports our partners’ staff and volunteers, operations, and communities in their disaster response. Marin VOAD is composed of agencies and organizations that have a role in or resources to give to support disaster response and recovery efforts in Marin County.

All Marin County nonprofit, faith-based, and other community organizations active in disaster services are welcome and encouraged to join Marin VOAD. We ask our partners to contribute to Marin VOAD’s sustainability and demonstrate their support of this collaboration by paying a nominal annual fee. Suggested fee amounts range from $50 to $150 depending on the size of the organization. With your membership Marin VOAD can do these four things:

  • Help nonprofits be trained and prepared for a disaster
  • Coordinate nonprofits with the County government disaster response
  • Direct nonprofit needs to the Emergency Operations Center
  • Support socially vulnerable communities with resources

Thank you for helping support Marin VOAD today! Marin VOAD is a fiscally sponsored project of Center for Volunteer and Nonprofit Leadership (CVNL).
